Macca

I have been associated with 2NVR since 2017. In my life as the Radio Presenter of ’The Breakfast Club’ and ‘A Cuppa With Macca’ as well a team member of ‘That’s A Wrap’, I have become known on air as Macca.

I moved to Nambucca in 2004 as a school principal and retired here in 2012. As a sportsman I have played, refereed and coached many sports. I played cricket in Australia and Papua New Guinea at 1st Grade level and captained Inter-district and Club sides in country NSW. I was an opening fast bowler and took 3 ‘Hat Tricks’ and twice took 8 wickets in an innings. As a rugby league prop-forward I played at Junior Club and University Shield Levels until an injury to my neck curtailed any further contact sport. I have been a keen tennis, squash and golf player over the years as well as breeding and racing trotters and in recent years racing gallopers with other syndicate members.

Since joining the ‘That’s A Wrap’ team at the end of 2018 I have been addicted to sports radio commentary. I jumped at the chance to be part of the team to broadcast the Macksville Sea Eagles’ home games live in 2019. The highlight of my football commentary has been my call of the 2019 Women’s League Tag Grand Final.

I enjoy chewing the fat about sport and the opportunity to do it with the team each Sunday on ‘That’s A Wrap’ is awesome. The opportunity to speak with and question the special guests we have on the program is very exciting and a lot of fun.

Calling a footy game live on radio is challenging and very rewarding. I am looking forward to bringing our listeners a sensational coverage of the Macksville games this year
