My time at Nambucca Valley Community Radio began back in 2016 after moving into the area from Sydney. As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, I recognised it was definitely God who opened up the pathways for my husband and I to settle in the Valley.

Within three months, a good friend, now also a presenter suggested we could host a three-hour breakfast show as there were some gaps that could be filled by volunteer presenters and training was coming up! in all honesty, I thought the idea was nuts! but God moved us into the area for a reason, so we undertook the training and Linda and I began our breakfast program called Breakfast with Bubble and Squeak which had Christian themes and ran for about three years.

We have recently taken on our own shows and I now host Praise, Prayer and Pop on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm.

Praise, Prayer and Pop has and continues to be a wonderful opportunity for me to share my personal faith with the community in the Valley and beyond, as we also live stream. It also adds its own unique flavour to the radio station, as do all the wide variety of programs.

In the first hour of each week a different theme is explored, some of the topics we’ve covered have been, anxiety, hope, women in the Bible, forgiveness and Grace. Together we discover what God’s Word says about the particular topic and how it applies to our lives today. There are regular segments, for example, Our Favourite Hymns with Charles Wid- dowson. All this is interspersed with great Christian music from Aussie Artists like White- field and Peter Christie as well as artists from overseas.

I am always encouraged when listeners ask me to play new worship songs they may have heard, or even older ones that bring back cherished memories for them. My regular listen- ers often give me feedback and I’m always open to the community to give me some ideas for topics they would like me to address in the future.

Being a Presenter on 2NVR 105.9FM has really opened my eyes to the incredible variety of genres and talent we have in this country and the many different ways they reflect worship.
