2NVR’s Next Intro Training Course

2NVR conducts introductory weekend training sessions for anybody interested in becoming a presenter Nambucca Valley Radio.

Community radio gives you the opportunity to have a media voice and presence, and to introduce others to your views about news, music, arts, crafts, sports, religion, pets, or any of potentially thousands of other interests and ideas.

Next Course: Date TBA, June 2024

Details below:

Course Date: Saturday
Time: 9am till 2 pm (approx)

Covering: introduction to community radio broadcasting in general, ranging from important technical aspects about being on-microphone and on-air, through to the specifics of broadcasting at 2NVR, such as show construction, audience considerations, dos and don’ts, the legalities of broadcasting, rules imposed on us by the Australian Media & Communications Authority, and more.

Course Date: Sunday
Time 9 am till 2 pm (approx)

Covering: Any leftover legals & theory. Practical studio sessions on panel (not on-air), plus interview & recording techniques and tips, and other practical issues.

Location: 2NVR Studios, 834 Rodeo Drive, Tewinga, 2449

Course Cost: 2NVR Membership (you must be a full member).
If you are not already a member, you can join on Saturday morning. We will have forms. The annual individual cost is $20. Family membership (2 adults and multiple children) is $50 per annum.

For the course, you will receive the 2NVR Presenter’s Handbook, various other course notes, and guided training sessions with reference to those notes at our studios in Tewinga.

Don’t panic. Radio broadcasting is easy, and you will have the opportunity to have plenty of hands-on experience before you “fly solo”.

Questions are always welcome. In fact, there are no silly questions, but the status of some answers may be dubious!

After the initial introductory day/weekend you will receive a minimum of ten to twenty hours (or more, if necessary) of mentored on-air training sessions.

All participants are required to bring their own:
• Pens / Pencils
• Notebook / Paper
• Lunch / Snacks / Beverages

We have a jug/urn onsite for hot beverages, and you may use the onsite fridge to store your food or drink, but you must bring your own tea/coffee/milk/foodstuffs etc.

Community radio gives you the opportunity to have a media voice and presence, and to introduce others to your views about news, music, arts, crafts, sports, religion, pets, or any of potentially thousands of other interests and ideas.
